Runelite/others are a cheat customer. Alternatives such as being able to remap click option on things in stock or change click (Menu entry swapping), viewing items in a pile on the floor with no action (normally needs a right click the pile), hiding undesirable attack styles, bank label tabs, timers, clue scroll helper, dwarf cannonball tracker, imp socket on mini-map, raid scouter. Those are all cheating. Other characteristics I find fine such as exp trackers, zoom, widgets, player indicators, clan chat and chat commands, bank evaluator.
I want to have an honest discussion on reddit because I'm enthusiastic about the sport. Menu entrance swapping is definitely not QOL. QOL shouldn't give an unfair advantage - that winrsgold is how I translate quality of life, you may have a different definition of it. Understanding how many ticks until a monster spawns is what is providing an unfair advantage over mobile and other consumers when competing for a monster whether in bossing or simply killing things.
You appear to have misunderstood exactly what I typed about the dwarf cannon. My difficulty is with it keeping an eye on how many cannonballs are from the cannon at a given period - not about understanding where the cannon is. This isnt a significant issue that I'll die on a mountain over but it's a little thing that really adds up in advantage over time with tens of thousands of people doing slayer. It's saving 30+ minutes of cannon damage per task because ones cannon doesn't stop rotating.
Jagex has shifted as a organization and value other things over integrity. Jagex and players took the'if you can't best them join them' attitude towards third party customers. Players were knowingly breaking the rules and utilizing 3rd party customers way before Jagex made a decision to allow their use. People today want their own interests at hand prior to the interests of the game in general it seems. Many JMods are gamers too and revel in the benefit of a 3rd party customer as they have stated themselves and shown on their personal live streams. This gets into the whole'corrupt jurisdiction' trope in a sense at this time. If it's benefitting the devs they will not want to disallow it and act against their own interests buy OSRS gold.
The fact that Jagex has needed to induce plugins to be eliminated from multiple clients and control/make statements regarding how AHK/client mouse keys are used supports my statement that there are definitely lines which are being crossed and cheating occuring. We don't see Jagexs methods for deciding if something is good or not. If Jagex was always right about what's pushing the line we wouldn't have surveys for new abilities and other updates/content failing. Reddit play calendar etc.. Even their changes to things such as vesta longsword brings big debate. We can't expect them to state that the plugins used are crossing the line unless it is something they make a show about like the inferno.
